I remember a time when my grandparents, my two aunts, two uncles, five cousins, my mom, dad and brother all fit into one room. Now, the cousins are married, most have children of their own and the whole clan barely fits into one house, let alone one room! All my family was going to be together again. With it being Thanksgiving weekend, it was tough for David and Jodee to get here from Milwaukee, Jason and Randa from Phoenix and Dustin and Sunny from St George, UT but they all did!
The funeral was Saturday, November 24th. I gave the eulogy. I shared about Grandma and her life. She loved being around her family. She loved animals. She loved flowers and gardening. She loved Jesus. Plain and simple. Pastor Mike did a wonderful tribute in a simple way, "Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so." That was Grandma. Uncle Joe did a time of sharing and a blessing at the gravesite. What a special relationship he had with his mother-in-law.
After the funeral, we took family pictures. I don't think we could have gotten all the family in one shot and I know everyone didn't have the patience to try so we didn't!
Instead we took pictures of each family and then all the great grandkids. I wish we would have done one with all the grandkids and all the outlaws. That would have been fun. Oh well. We were back at Wes and Ginny's for more food, laughs, memories and fun that evening. It was such a sort time to visit with my cousins but I enjoyed it.
