Camping when you're pregnant really isn't fun anymore

This weekend we went to my family reunion. It's not exactly camping, we only slept in a camper. It was still difficult getting in and out. We finally had a wheelchair so getting around the lodge was a breeze. My parents were there so my mom helped me do everything giving Nathan a break.

It was a fun weekend. It was good seeing everyone again. I wish I could see some of them more often.

Vacation if you can call it that

We went to Breckenridge for the weekend in part to celebrate our anniversary and for a coworkers wedding. Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy it as much as I could have because of the crutches. It would have been easier if we had a wheelchair but oh well.

Saturday we hung out in the hotel room and watched dumb movies. We went to dinner at Breckenridge Brewery. Sunday we hung out at Starbucks and read books in the morning. We ate lunch at a pizza joint where I found THE DUMBEST TOURIST. A guy asked me if I broke my leg skiing!!! Yep, I don't know when you ski, but I ski in July when it's nice and cold!!!!

The wedding was beautiful. It was up on the mountain at one of the ski stations. The food was great and the company was fun....my coworkers are a hoot. They had this dance where all married couples were on the floor. Rvery minute they would say "stay on the floor if you've been married for __ yrs." At the end, there was a couple who have been married over 50 years.

Camping isn't a bad thing when you're pregnant....

...just falling and breaking your ankle when you're pregnant is! That's right, I fell and broke my ankle while camping. We were camping with the Franks at Jellystone in Estes Park. We had everything set up for the three day adventure. We were eating dinner and I was walking to get the dog untangled.

I was walking down a slight incline and down I went. As I fell, I turned to my side so I wouldn't hurt the baby. I heard my ankle pop a few times. I knew it was broke instantly. I decided we should go to the emergency room to reassure that the baby was ok and get some crutches to continue the shortened adventure on.

After taking a quick tour of Estes Park, we finally found the hospital. After explaining what happened to everyone who worked at the hospital, I finally got hooked up to a fetal monitor and the little man's heartbeat had dropped to about 140bpm....It was still a steady beat so that calmed me down. Only to get a nurse to lecture me about wearing flipflops. I wanted to yell at her. It's 99 degrees outside, I'm six months pregnant and I'm not supposed to wear flipflops....that woman has a lot of nerve telling me that!

The xrays showed a crack all the way through the fibula (the little, outside bone) and some severe ligament damage around my ankle bone itself. Well now we know what we are dealing with. Surgery!

Pregnant lady camping....now there's a sight!

We went to Green Mountain Reservoir this weekend. Camping isn't a bad thing when you're pregnant. Camping chairs when you're pregnant are a horrible thing. It was difficult to get out of them so I didn't. Nathan did a lot of fishing and I just relaxed in the shade with the dog and read books. It was a very relaxing time.

San Jose-San Francisco

We went to San Jose for a wedding over the weekend. It was a much better flight than before. We left at 9pm Denver time so by the time we got to our hotel, it was 1am. The flight home was at 6am on Sunday

Nathan was the best man in his old roommate Jason's wedding. Saturday (the morning of the wedding) it was raining but the weather was perfect for the outdoor afternoon park wedding.

We went up to San Francisco to the Golden Gate Bridge. HUGE! We took several pictures of the bridge and Alcatraz. We also toured an old military bunker area while there. I would NEVER want to live in San Francisco....everything is stacked upon each other and there is no parking anywhere.

While Nathan was doing the bachelor party thing, my old neighbor/friend Chris and his girlfriend Kristy came down from Stockton and took me out to dinner. It was so good to see him and finally meet her. We laughed A LOT! Almost to the wetting the pants stage.

All in all, it was a great trip and nice to get away from Denver for a while.

Baby doesn't like to fly

Saturday, we flew to Orlando for a conference for Nathan's work. I don't know if it was flying, being pregnant, what I ate or a combination of all three but I couldn't get to the bathroom fast enough once I got off that plane! Luckily, we were sitting up front and the stewardess let me off first. I have never puked so hard in all my life.

By the time we got our luggage, I was back to normal.

We had a great time in Orlando. We went to Kennedy Space Center. I had a Cheeseburger in Paradise. I went shopping and got my hair cut. I sat by the hot tub and soaked my feet.

The flight home was so much better.
