Today, my mom, dad and I took Remington to meet his Great Grandma Harrison. She has Alzheimer's and lives in a nursing home. It's been 7 months since I've seen her because the pregnancy and broken ankle would have confused her more than needed. I wouldn't have known it was her except I recognized the shirt she was wearing. It was very difficult to be there because she has no idea who we are. We know who she is and who she was and that's all that matters now. When I held Remington on the lap pad of her wheelchair, she put her hand over him and said "baby." I had tears rolling down my face. My mom took a picture of Great Grandma Freda, Grampy Galen, Mama Tawnya and baby Remington. What a special picture.
We got great news later in the day that my cousin Randa had her baby girl early this morning. It's kind of ironic that the day I take my son in to meet great grandma, there's another great grandchild born. I will never forget this special day.
